Description:
After his friend suspects something strange going on at the launch facility where they both work-and then goes missing -Martin Hepton doesn't believe the official line of "long-term sick leave". Refusing to stop asking questions, he leaves his old life behind, aware that someone is shadowing his every move. The only hope he has is his ex-girlfriend Jill Watson, the only journalist who will believe his story. But neither of them can believe the puzzle they're piecing together- or just how shocking the secret is that everybody wants to stay hidden.

Signed, First Edition, Mint Condition/CollectibleBook appears to be untouched/unread. Spine and binding is tight.Dust jacket is in mint condition and protected with Mylar.Signed by the author, Thomas E. Ricks, on title page.First edition print. From #1 New York Times bestselling author Thomas E. Ricks, a dual biography of Winston Churchill and George Orwell, whose farsighted vision and inspired action preserved democracy from the threats of authoritarianism, from the left and right alike. Both George Orwell and Winston Churchill came close to death in the mid-1930s—Orwell shot in the neck in a trench line in the Spanish Civil War, and Churchill struck by a car in New York City. If they'd died then, history would scarcely remember them. At the time, Churchill was a politician on the outs, his loyalty to his class and party suspect. Orwell was a mildly successful novelist, to put it generously. No one would have predicted that by the end of the 20th century they would be considered two of the most…

Description:
Isaiah was Samuel's and Samuel was Isaiah's. That was the way it was since the beginning, and the way it was to be until the end. In the barn they tended to the animals, but also to eah other, transforming the hollowed-out shed into a place of sanctuary, a source of intimacy and hope in a world ruled by vicious masters. But when an older man -a fellow slave- seeks to gain favor by preaching the master's gospel on the platntation, the enslaved begin to turn on their own. Isaiah and Samuel's love, which was once so simple, is seen as sinful and a clear danger to the plantation's harmony.
