A very fine copy of the Curry B binding with the correct title "John Carter of Mars", the A binding reads "John Carter and the giant of Mars". This copy being the blue cloth variant of the B binding. Canaveral allowed printers to use any color cloth they had remnants off to save money so both issues are available in a variety of colors with no priority. Richard Lupoff the editor at Canaveral estimates that there are probably around 1500 copies of the incorrect first state and again around 1500 of the corrected 2nd state. It became the 65th HC of ERB work. Clearly marked First Edition. There is two variants of this book. The first 400 copies where distributed in December 1964 with 5 copyright dates on the copyright page, with Tarzan and the Castaways being duplicate for a 1941 and 1965 date. The title page also states 1965. In the second state of 2600 copies a label was affixed which reduced the copyright dates to four by eliminating the 1941 Tarzan and the Castaways and correcting the date of the other to 1964. This edition released 15 years following ERB's death and arund 30 years after his marriage to Florence Gilbert. A marriage which caused a big family rift, illustrated by the covering of the dedication to Florence Gilbert. The first 125 copies the dedication was covered by a semi-opaque sticker while the remaining copies were covered with a green sticker, this copy being one of the latter. Total printing of around 3000-4000 copies as per normal for publisher. A fine copy in a fine clipped jacket. Few minor spots on fore-edge, otherwise in very fine condition.
