Original full vellum, gilt to spines and upper covers, t.e.g. Spine of Rhinegold slightly rubbed and faded, Siegfried lacks tie, some light spotting to covers, some off setting from brown paper to next text leaf, but generally quite bright and clean. Each illustration with titled tissue guard. Rhinegold is number two hundred and fifty-one of eleven hundred copies, Siegfried is number five hundred and eighty-eight, both signed by Rackham to limitation leaf. Small map of the world as a frontispiece and a smaller map of the India bound after the advertisement leaves. The map of India itself measures 695mm x 990mm. Extremities rubbed, spine worn. Endpapers and ffeps with newspaper cuttings about India pasted down. Map very lightly browned, a couple of minor abrasions and creases, but generally in good order. First issued in 1841, this is dated 1857, documenting British East India Company control over India, and showing distances between cities, as well as the growth of the railway.
