This book with green buckram cloth covering is full of folk symbolization, with illustrations by the Lithuanian artist A. Surgailiene. Front of the DJ has a colorful representation of a wood block print by Surgailiene. These whimsical woodblock prints are featured throughout. The title of book translates to "The Sky is Falling." Design in black on front board, author name in black on spine. Boards have bent and dented corner tips. Spine cocks to left. Textblock has darkened, and it appears that very light, faint, foxing has begun on the outside of the textblock and on pages within. Danish Club of Tucson, 1991. Softcover. Good. Smallish booklet with saddle-stitched binding (stapled). This booklet of collected tales was published by The Danish Club of Tucson in October 1991. The wraps are lightly soiled, with crimping around edges of the covers and scraping on the "spine." Smudges on title page. Corner tips are bumped and slightly curled. Very light age-toning to pages. 31 pages.

Economy Book League, 1933. Softcover. Acceptable. Softcover published by the Economy Book League, which was an American book publishing company based in Cleveland, Ohio. The faux leather covers are cracked and worn. Soiled with rips along the ends of spine strips. Very rubbed and scraped on all edges. Front cover and and first 50 pages or so curl upward. Age-toning to outside edges of paste-downs and endpapers. Some cracking in the hinges/gutters of a few different section of the book, but no pages are loose and this remains a good reading copy. Endpages have large stamped imprint of the Economy Book Library. 258 pages.

Published by The Germany Book Community, just one of the many, many book clubs that published various titles, very much like the Readers Digest book club in the U.S. Paper covered boards, with nice design, and with a leather covered spine. Scraped on rear board. Gilt titling is still bright. Braided ribbon bookmark is present, but frayed at the ends. Corner tips are bumped with light wearing to the paper. Nice firm binding. 329 pages.

Head of spine is worn through to cardboard. Inch long split along front edge of spine from the top. Gilt title on front board is still bright, as is gilt on spine, although less so. A little wearing to front upper corner tip. On FFE in a 2 inch by 3 inch print, glued by its top edge to FFE. Under that is something written in pen and it's in German, as is another bit of handwriting and signature with a date of 1929. A few pages have small areas of soiling towards the bottom of pages. Gilt on the top edges of the text block is still fairly bright, with some light stains on outside and bottom edges of text block. Binding remains in good shape. Quite readable. 324 pages.

Purple and gray boards are clean, however, front and rear boards have dings about two inches from lower edge. The indentation is more pronounced on the rear board. The dj also has a small tear where the ding is. Looks like this book was dropped. Binding is very firm and it doesn't appear the book has ever been read. Rated acceptable simply due to the bit of trauma. Small smudged to outside edge of text block. 358 pages.

DJ has bumped corner tips and wearing at the top and bottom of spine. Small rips to the bottom of DJ at spine. DJ crimped along edges, has scuffing, and is scraped. Black cloth boards are clean, with bumping to the bottom of the spine. Gilt lettering on spine is faded slightly. Spine is slightly cocked to the right. The binding is sound and in good shape. FFE has remnants of previous owners' initials, which look to have been erased at some point. Text block has some light smudging. The bottom corner tips of pages 69 thru 76 are folded over. Just the very tips of the pages. Leaves of the book have mellowed to a light manila color. 278 pps.

Unpaginated and looks to have never been in the hands of a child. Nice copy.
