Printed for R Butters, Fleet Street, London, no date; small 6mo, 48pp; disbound from a larger work, perhaps a collection of plays such as in a volume of "The Theatrical Magazine" an advertisement for which appears on the final page, and in consequence without covers; slight damage (without text loss) to the title page and a tiny worm track affecting the very foot of the last six leaves; outer pages somewhat dust marked and with some further dust marking and evidence of handling internally. Based on and adapted from Voltaire's five act tragedy "Mahomet" - which was first staged in April 1741 - Miller's version opened almost exactly three years later and a few days before his death aged around 40. The fifth act of his version was completed by his friend John Hoadley.
