Description:
Scotland, 1890. Some of them are dirty and stained.. The 25 original photos were taken mainly in Orkney, Wight, Shetland, as well as Yorkshire, Edinburgh and Maeshowe. The pictures are of buildings (Kirkwall Hotel, St. Magus Cathedral, Walter Scott Memorial, Forth Bridge, Holyroad Palace interior, Rowlstone Hall, Ventnori); animals (dogs, Scottish horses, cattle, sheep); landscape and scenery ( Isle of Wight, Orkney, Stromness, Maeshowe, Coastal Rocks, Dingwall) and life scenes (plowing, washing, fishing, carting). The interesting thing about the pictures is that, according to the handwritten inscriptions, they were made by Hungarians, who in 1893 presumably traveled to the country to study Scottish agriculture.
