New York: New York Weekly Argus, 1862. Soft cover. Very Good. 12 page pamphlet, approx. 6" X 9". In clear mylar sleeve. Seymour served as Governor of New York from 1853 to 1854 and from 1863 to 1864. He supported the Union war effort during the Civil War but criticized President Abraham Lincoln's leadership. He won election to another term as governor in 1862 and continued to oppose many of Lincoln's policies.

In the lead up to the Civil war, Crittenden sought out moderates from all parties and formed the Constitutional Union Party, though he refused the party's nomination for president in the 1860 election. In December 1860, he authored the Crittenden Compromise, a series of resolutions and constitutional amendments he hoped would avert the Civil War, but Congress would not approve them.

Concerns theinvestigation of materials recommended for use in a dam for power generation at the falls. Includes original photos pasted in (including a two multiple photo panoramas). Also has fold-out drawings and engineering plans/blueprints for the dam. This appears to be a carbon copy of the original (with original photos) so there were likely only 2 or 3 copies made. Bound in library buckram cloth. Very good condition.
