Complete in two volumes. Fist edition. With portrait frontispiece to volume one. The autobiography of Henry Taylor, an English dramatist, poet, Colonial Office of Barbados official, and man of letters who was good friends with Robert Southey. This work explores his life from boyhood, through his appointment to the Colonial Office and the beginning of his writing career, to his travels in later life. With commentary on friends and literary acquaintances throughout his life. Bound by R. W. Smith. Bound in half black crushed morocco with marbled boards. Externally, smart with light shelf wear and rubbing to the extremities. Light fading to the spine and the odd mark to the board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd spot to volume one and very light scattered spotting to volume two. Minor loss to the tissue guard of the frontispiece in volume one. Bound by R. W. Smith. Very Good
