This detective novel was written by Emma Lathen, a pen name for Mary Jane Latsis and Martha Henissart who write collaboratively. This work features their popular character John Thatcher, a Wall Street banker. In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally very smart with bumping to the extremities, a minor mark to the rear and slight loss to the tail of the spine. Light spotting to the endpapers. The wrap is sound with sunning to the spine, creasing, small closed tears to the head, the odd small chip, a closed tear to the tail of the rear fly leaf and loss to the head of the front flyleaf and to the tail of the front. Archival tape repairs to the verso. Internally firmly bound with bright pages and a small tidemark to the half title, pp.9 and pp. 179 and the odd mark and spot. Very Good Indeed
