Wear and slight loss to ends of spine and corners, with old tape repairs to reverse. Slight darkening to spine. Slight browning and a little light foxing to flaps. Unclipped. Preserved in a removable jacket protector. Overall jacket condition is Very Good Minus. Book: First printing. Blue green buckram binding. Browning to page edges, foxing to endpapers, half title page and last page of text. Occasional spots of light foxing and a few small marks to text. Previous owner's name to front free endpaper. Overall book condition is Very Good. Size: 5.25 x 7.75 inches (13 x 19 cm). Hardback. Printed pages: 252

Synopsis

Henry Green was the pen name of Henry Vincent Yorke. He was born in 1905 at the family home of his parents, near Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire, England, and was educated at Eton and Oxford. He worked at the family engineering firm for most of his life and pursued a parallel career as a novelist. He married in 1929 and had one son. During WWII he served for the duration in the London Fire Brigade. He died in December 1973.
