London: T. Cadell and W. Davies. Good with no dust jacket. 1809. Hardcover. Contemporary leather gilt, marbled endpages. Front board detached, included; rear board missing. Author's copy, annotated. Bound in both before and after the printed text are 205 pages of extensive manuscript notes and elaborations on English history, kings, queens, the Anglican Church, criticisms of "popery", drawings, etc. The latest note is 1837 when Victoria commenced her reign. There are two bookplates on the front pastedown; one is engraved "Lt. Colonel Dales," and has an added note, in ink: "Left by the late (Lt. Col. Dales) to the late John Nears, and now presented (1858) to [T. Willoughby]", of whom there is a second engraved bookplate. A few dampstains to text. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
