About This Item

Edmonton, Alberta: M.G. Hurtig, 1967. 85 pp, large 8vo (9 1/8" H). "Eli Mandel's third book of poetry marks a radical departure from his earlier work, although the voyeurism of 'Fuseli' and the beast-poems of 'Black and Secret Man' are obvious forbears of his new rhetoric. 'An Idiot Joy' is a striking collection of visionary poems in which gossips and criminals inhabit a landscape of shrines and moons." Very small bump to bottom corner of both boards, small bump at top/bottom of spine. Dust jacket has light edgewear/wrinkling - moderate at top/bottom of spine, a few tiny chips and tears, tear at bottom of rear panel, tiny closed perforation on rear hinge, light rubbing, minor soiling.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good.
