Interior is clean and unmarked. Dust jacket is rubbed, showing some modest edgewear; not price clipped ($2.50); in an archival mylar sleeve. 252, [1] pages. The second mystery by Joseph Shallit (1915-1995), described as ''a fast, salty, tough and authentic baffler laid in Philadelphia, among grifters, male and female, bookies and prize fighters, suave and scholarly gentlemen.'' The protagonist, Dan Morison, made his debut in Shallit's first book, The Billion-Dollar Body.
