Bound in publisher's full peach cloth, black lettering on spine and cover, baby-in-peach vignette on cover, top edge yellow, illustrated color endpapers. Illustrated with full-page and in-text color drawings by Frederick Richardson. Georgene Faulkner (1873-1958) was an American writer of Children's literature and storyteller of the early twentieth century. In her career, she was known and promoted as "the Story Lady." A native Chicagoan, she attended the School of Education of the University of Chicago, then at the forefront of educational reform. The illustrator, Frederick Richardson (1862 – 1937), who frequently illustrated books by Ms. Faulkner, was an American illustrator of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, best remembered for his illustrations of works by L. Frank Baum. . Former owner's name and date (1937) on ffep, some childish scribbling on cover, otherwise unmarked, covers lightly soiled, else fine; tight, square, and clean. VERY GOOD. .
