Kingston's entertaining adventure novel for young boys, with illustrations. Bound in the publisher's original red pictorial cloth. Dated using Jisc, from copies of the work held at the University of Cambridge libraries. First published in 1860. A thrilling children's novel about a nautical adventure in the southern seas. Written by English author, William Henry Giles Kingston, who was best known for his works of adventure fiction aimed at young boys. Illustrated with five brightly coloured plates. Collated, complete. Bound in the publisher's pictorial cloth. Externally, excellent, with light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and a little rubbing to the extremities. A touch of fading to the spine and extremities. Bookseller label to the rear paste down and contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper. Front hinge is a touch strained, but holding firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean, with the occasional spot or handling mark. Very Good Indeed
