This edition consists of 1000 soft cover copies, 100 numbered and 26 lettered hardbound copies. All numbered and lettered copies have been signed by the poet. This copy is letter "Z" and is signed by the poet. It is signed again by the poet with a drawing and poem on the half title page - "For Dan + Virginia - A black rose is a black rose / is what binds us when and / where we know it is between / us lovers / of the rose whose / Black black black --- is ink brink / for talking / is talking is the talking / we do in the name of rose / the talking rose / I found one such in your house / is our discourse - love, George 24 Aug 74 Fremont." A near fine copy in a near fine jacket. Bound in black cloth boards. Text block is lightly foxed, small scuff in upper corner of foredge. Jacket has minor wear to extremities.
