Bound in later hardcover quarter dark-brown paper boards, with beige cloth tape spine and paper title label. One of 315 (of which only 300 were for sale) copies. Printed on fine, hand-made, W M and floral watermarked paper. Uncut, deckled edges. Colophon. [ii], 1 (map), [i] 177 (including indices), [iii] pp. Preface by William Morris and Eiríkr Magnússon. Full-page map of Iceland. Chronology list. Indices at back of Personal Names, Place Names, of Things, Periphrastic Expressions in the Songs, Proverbs and Proverbial Sayings, and a long explanation of the Notes and Corrections to previous translations. First printed in 1869. Finished on the 3rd day of August, 1901 Rebound in dark brown paper-covered boards with beige cloth tape spine. Ex-academic library but free of internal labels or marking other than a small stamp to the verso of the title page and the verso of the last page. Boards and corners free of scuffs, stains, chips, or bumps. All pages flat and free from the usual spotting and foxing of a book this age. Internal pages absolutely pristine, clean, white, and crisp. Condition overall: Near Fine.
