Description:
Madison: Hispanic Seminary of Medieval Studies, 1992. Scholarly commentary, notes, and transcription of this medieval manuscript Bible held in the Escorial library, of interest partly for being a rare Hebrew-based Bible, "one of the few produced in Spain for the use of Jews". A translation into Spanish from the Hebrew, the transcribed manuscript includes the books from Genesis 25.17 to 2 Kings 23.4; the missing parts are supplied from E7 and E4, two other manuscripts in the Escorial. The editor discusses linguistics, primarily. Critical commentary in English; the transcribed text is untranslated, though there are many linguistic notes. Publisher's Spanish Series No. 66, hardcover, as pictured; no jacket, as issued. Light wear to book, which appears unread; minor rubbing & hint of bumping to corners. Text clean; xlv, blank, 6 b/w facsimiles; 482 pages, colophon.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. Quarto.
