Jerald Horst is a retired fisheries specialist. He worked as an extension fisheries biologist in the Louisiana State University Agricultural Center and served as a professor of fisheries at LSU for thirty years. He is a past president of the Louisiana Association of Professional Biologists and a member of the Louisiana Chapter of the American Fisheries Society. Horst is also a recipient of the Louisiana Wildlife Federation's Conservation Communicator of the Year award. A resident of Franklinton, Louisiana, Horst co-wrote The Louisiana Seafood Bible Series, published by Pelican, with his wife, Glenda.

Mike Lane is the creator and publisher of the Web sites RodnReel.com and RodnGun.com. Lane has explored the Gulf of Mexico to depths exceeding seven thousand feet as an ROV pilot. He is a past vice president of the Louisiana Outdoor Writers Association and the author of The Chefs of RodnReel.com, published by Pelican. Lane resides in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Duane Raver has an extensive background as a fisheries biologist and artist. He is the recipient of the North Carolina Governor's Conservation Achievement Award and was elected to the North Carolina Wildlife Federation's Conservation Hall of Fame. Raver lives in Garner, North Carolina.
