From an obituary posted on-line: Samuel Nakasian was an international lawyer and economist, and former administrator of the United States Marshall Plan.Mr. Nakasian was born on December 5, 1915, in Samsun, Turkey, (then the Ottoman Empire) and after being orphaned by the Armenian genocide, immigrated to America with his two older sisters. Through The Children's Aid Society in New York, he found a home. At the onset of the Great Depression, he moved to New York City where he worked days and completed high school at night. He received a B.A. in Economics from New York University in 1940 and an M.A. in Economics from Columbia University in 1943.
