A Child's Garden of Verses by Robert Louis Stevenson - 1895

This is a charming, first illustrated edition of "A Child's Garden of Verses" by ROBERT LOUIS STEVENSON. 1895 1st American edition; Charles Scribner's Sons - New York. Beautifully illustrated with drawings on nearly every page by Charles Robinson, including a frontispiece portrait of Stevenson. Gilt top page edges. Nicely bound with gilt illustrations on the covers and spine.

Condition:
There is a small, light (barely noticeable) stain at the top of the front cover; clean back cover and spine; tiny scuff at the left edge of the back cover; sharp corners. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Nice interior - the pages are lightly age-toned, but mostly clean with only some light staining/smudge at the bottom half of pages 28/29, and a few other small, light random smudges here and there. Bright gilt lettering and decorations on the covers and spine. Pages 26 & 27 each have a small tear at the outer edge. There is a name written in pen on the front end paper. Overall the book is in Very Good condition.
