Robin Hobb is a fantasy writer best known for her fantasy novels set in the  Realm of the Elderlings.  Her debut series, the  Farseer Trilogy , launched her a successful career. The trilogy consists of  Assassin's Apprentice   (1995),  Royal Assassin   (1996), and  Assassin's Quest   (1997), all centered around the life and adventures of FitzChivalry Farseer, the illegitimate son of Prince Chivalry. Fitz's bloodline also gives him access to a secret telepathic power called the Skill.  In the third and final book of the  Farseer Trilogy ,  Assassin's Quest,  Fitz, who was secretly raised as an assassin by King Shrewd, is believed to be dead, as is the King. But he is saved from death by magic, profoundly changed, and determined to save the kingdom. And the magic he finds within himself with either save or destroy him.
