No dust jacket. Condition of binding: Lightly age toned, lighter on backstrip (spine). Previous owner has stamped his name on first endpapers, small bookseller's sticker on rear endpaper. Edges: Scattered old humidity/foxing stains. Preliminaries and textblock: Scattered old humidity/foxing stains, but text is clear, easy to read. This collected essays and journalism from the Nobel Prize-winning prime minister includes some of his most important WW II speeches. Churchill was not only a master of the battlefield, but of the page and the podium. This compilation, composed of speeches made in the early years of World War II, contains some of his best speeches. Famous speeches in this collection include "This was their finest hour;" "Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed, by so many, to so few;" and "I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat."
