Tipped in color woodblock prints at beginning, as well as both color and black and white photographs throughout. Organized into the following sections: Scenic Trio of Japan, Eight Celebrated Views of Japan, National Parks, Celebrated Castles, Shrines and Temples, Parks and Gardens, Military and National Sports, Modern Sports, Annual Functions and Customs, Theatrical Performances. Tissue guard with text for each hors texte woodblock. Coarse woven silk boards with stitched detailing to front board as well as image overlay; two ties with silk detailing to spine. Housed in original coarse silk covered chemise with gilt title to front & bone clasps extant. Expected wear & tear to chemise. Title & front fly show old folds. Book itself remains almost as new (see image 2) Unpaginated. 18 x 12 1/2 inches.
