From the 'Nelson's Classics' series, edited by Sir Henry Newbolt. In the original publisher's cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. This work was written by Alexandre Dumas, a French novelist and playwright who is best known for his historical novel 'The Three Musketeers'. This work is a historical novel and romantic poem which follows the main character 'Cornelius Van Baerle' who sets out to grow a black tulip to win a sizeable money prize. Undated, circa dated by copies held on Jisc. Publisher's advertisements to the rear of the wrap. In the publisher's original cloth with the original dust wrapper. Externally very smart with rubbing to the head and tail of the spine with slight fading to the spine. Light spotting to the endpapers. The wrap is generally smart with marks, small chips, the odd small closed tear and scattered spotting with fading and slight loss to the head, tail and middle of the spine. Spotting and marks to the verso. Internally firmly bound with clean and generally bright pages. Very Good
