About This Item

Signed and numbered 17 of only 50 copies by Wade to copyright page. 150 individually captioned xeroxes, along with limitation & introduction pages. Artificial burn marks to front cover, done with a little excess to bottom left corner (see image). This copy appears to have been disbouond for some time & shows wear and staining to bottom gutter of initial 3 leaves and last blank page, not affecting xeroxes; loss to top & top fore edge of "Indian smoking hash" leaf not affecting xerox image but with loss of Wade's age at the time; moisture mark to fore edge "Shanee" and oxodized fore edge of "Bad guy gets drop on sheriff." Later string tied binding. Texas motifs and title to front cover. Primarily photographs of the artist's installations. From Wade's Preface "This Book is a chronological presentation of my projects about Texas, defined in this context as ideas and attitudes about scale, culture, myths symbols, artifacts, history, customs, food, animals, experiences, kitsch, machismo, cross fertilization, sign systems, tourism, country western music, the picturesque, cowboys, boundries [sic], life and death."... "The projects documented in this volume are mainly static works: Photographic murals and three dimensional "displays". Most were part of gallery and museum shows 1971-1976. The color Xerox's are translations from slides and photographs printed in a Xerox 6500 color copier by Clare Frost. The color quality and photo resolution are especially well suited to the easy conveyance of the "Texas Information". Simultaneous cultures will eventually criss cross to the extent that "Earth culture" will be a hodge podge of all previously "exotic" and isolated phenomenon." No previous owner's name or other markings.
