London, Ward, Lock, 1920.. FIRST EDITION 1920, 210 x 150 mm, 8¼ x 5¾ inches, red cloth backed buff boards, pretty mounted colour plate, illustration of clock on spine, charming colour illustrated endpapers, 144 pages. 24 delightful colour plates all by Tarrant, silhouette illustrations by Nina K. Brisley. Spine a bit faded, head and tail of spine and corners very slightly worn, minute nicks to tail of spine, very slight discoloration to clock on upper cover, inner paper hinges just slightly cracked, binding sound, tiny chip to edge of front endpaper, bookseller's tiny label on pastedown partly scraped off (see image 2), small hairline crack to surface colour on frontispiece (plates printed on thin poor quality coated paper), 15 mm (¾") graze to colour plate on page 10 caused by adhesion to facing text page which has 5 mm (¼") hole and loss of 1 word (see image 4), 6 small closed edge tears, 90 mm (3½") closed tear to inner margin of plate page 123, all neatly repaired, 1 text page slightly creased, piece torn from margin of 1 colour plate, 10 x 40 mm deep (½" x 1½"), small piece torn off corner of 1 text page, occasional slight mark to margins.
