Illustrated dustwrapper, by Ron Laskie, with yellow writing on the front panel and black on the spine. The top and rear backstrip edge are missing the first 0.25 ". Rubbing to the dustwrapper corners and a little rubbing to the dustwrapper edges. Some rubbing marks to the back panel of the dustwrapper and a library sticker can still be seen to the lower edge of the backstrip. A history of the Australian phenomena of bushrangers -- men who used their knowledge of bush craft and geography to hold up gold shipments and passengers. The book is in three categories, the first 70 years of bush ranging where the men were basically escaped convicts; the next phase was the 1850s where freeborn, and reckless, young Australians held up the gold transports because they are too lazy to dig the gold themselves and the third era encompasses Ned Kelly and his gang. Included in the appendices are the two letters written by Ned Kelly -- in their entirety -- The Glenwrowan Letter and the more famous Jerilderie Letter; where he gives his version of his life and events surrounding him becoming a bushranger. This is the first Australian edition. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Illustrator: Photographic. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo.
