Half red calf on red textured boards, gilt particulars to spine slightly faded, five raised bands. Corners slightly bumped. Cardinal Cisneros was archbishop of Toledo, and third inquisitor general of Castile, belonging to the Franciscan Order. He also ruled the Crown of Castile due to the inability of Queen Juana. Between 1506 and 1507 presided over the Council of Regency that assumed the Castilian government after the death of the king Felipe el Hermoso while awaiting Fernando the Catholic. Between 1516 and 1517 he returned to assume power after the death of King Fernando and awaiting Carlos I. 271, index, erratas pages; All shipments through USPS insured Priority Mail.
