Illustrator: Photographic and Illustrations. preface by author, introduction by Frank Edwards, list of illustrations and a note on sources. The text is illustrated with eight black-and-white illustrations / photographs. Light blue coloured boards with black coloured titles to the backstrip. Plain text dustwrapper with yellow, blue and white coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip (?). "Unidentified Flying Objects is the most comprehensive study yet published of a new and exciting field of knowledge: the appearance of space-navigable bodies among which are the 'Flying Saucers'. The book throws fascinating light on this subject and relate scores of events and phenomena to the whole theory of spaceflight." -- from the front fold over panel blurb. Stated first edition. Minor softening of the backstrip edges which also show browning. Rubbing to the book corners and lower book edges with browning to the extreme edges of the book. Marks and some fading to the book panels. Light browning and foxing to the textblock edges and browning of the pages. Offset tanning, browning and foxing to the endpapers with original bookseller's sticker to the lower right-hand corner of the front paste-down. Previous owners rubber stamp to the free front end paper, half title page and title page. The dustwrapper is in execrable condition – now protected. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and the majority of the backstrip is missing. Chipping, with pieces missing from the dustwrapper edges and there are various tears, the largest being 4.25", to the top right-hand corner of the front panel. A previous owner has protected the edges with tape and the residue can be seen along the edges of the dustwrapper and in the middle of the rear panel. Heavy rubbing and some handling Marks also noted. This is the first UK edition. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [5], 6-239, [1] pages,. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
