First abridged edition. Foldout map of Cook's voyages to rear. Previous owners' names neatly to front pastedown and fly dated 1785 and 1889. Brown calf with tape repair to spine (see image). Heavy wear to edges. Tape reinforcement to front gutter. Acid burn to map at first centerfold and separation at folds. Nonetheless text remains clean with no further defacements. Scarce.
