About This Item
N.p.: N.p., 1972. Vintage borderless satin-finish double-weight reference photograph from the 1972 documentary film, showing musicians George Harrison and Bob Dylan performing together.
One of the first large-scale humanitarian aid rock concerts, The Concert for Bangladesh featured a plethora of 1960s pop and rock musicians performing to raise relief funds for the refugees of the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War-related genocide, spearheaded by Harrison and Indian sitar player Ravi Shankar. The event was filmed in its entirety, as well as made into a successful album by Apple Corps, but performance rights and tax issues led to funds raised from the film and album (speculated to total anywhere from $8 to 10 million) being held in an IRS escrow account for over a decade.
Shot on location over two days at Madison Square Garden in New York.
9.5 x 7 inches. Near Fine.
