Small 8vo, approximately 170 x 110 mm, 6½ x 4½ inches, 55 text illustrations some with several numbers to 1 illustration, page: vi, [1], 1-278 plus adverts divided into 16 and 48 pages, original publisher's cloth with black lettering, pale green endpapers with with adverts for Weale's Scientific and Technical series. Spine darkened and covers slightly dusty, tiny ink name to top margins of first pastedown, title page and contents page, otherwise a very good clean tight copy.
