London: MacMillan & Company, 1925. First edition, later printing. Octavo, original cloth. Signed and dated by the author on the front free endpaper, "Rabindranath Tagore Feb. 26, 1932." In very good condition with some wear to the extremities and to the side front panel. Books signed by Tagore are rare. Rabindranath Tagore was a Bengali polymath who reshaped Bengali literature and music, as well as Indian art with Contextual Modernism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Author of Gitanjali and its "profoundly sensitive, fresh and beautiful verse", he became the first non-European to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913.
