Government House, Brisbane, 1 December 1880. Vellum 12 x 17 inches, folded, in very good clean condition, Queensland seal affixed. Frederick Waymouth Gibbs (1821-1898), Barrister and tutor to Edward VII. William Hemmant (1837-1916, see Australian Dictionary of Biography) had alleged agency scandals in the purchase of railway lines and in contracts for the conveyance of immigrants.Sir Arthur Edward Kennedy GCMG CB (18091883), colonial administrator who served as governor of a number of British colonies, namely Sierra Leone, Western Australia, Vancouver Island, Hong Kong and Queensland. Sir Arthur Hunter Palmer (18191898), politician and pastoralist in Australia, Premier of Queensland (1870-74).
