This is an exceptionally maintained Book published in 1904. It is a Biography of William II, the Emperor of Germany. The Author, Marguerite Cunliffe-Owens, remained anonymous and did not include her name anywhere on this Book as she had done with several of her other Books. This Book has 282 pages and 16 illustrations. This Book also includes a signature by Emperor William dated 1903 under his photo in the frontispiece.

This is the author's revised edition, Agapida Edition, published in 1893. 2 volumes Beautiful books in light cream colored leather binding , high quality deckled pages and lovely Moorish gilt designs on the cover and spine. Each page is framed with Moorish scroll work. The photos throughout the books are covered with glassine paper. There is some darkening, due to age, along the beveled edges of the covers and the first few pages of vo. 1. Also an inscription and signature, dated 1937 on the third flyleaf page of vol. 1.. Otherwise, the book is in fine - near new condition.

This is a 17-Volume collection of works of Historical Fiction by Luise Mühlbach, a well-known German Author, who wrote most of her work in the 1860s and early 1870s. Her Books focus on several well-known German and European personalities including Frederick the Great, Joseph the Second, Empress Josephine, Goethe and Schiller, Napoleon, Marie Antoinette, King Henry and others. Her Books were translated into English by several different translators and published as a set by A.L. Fowle, Publisher, of New York in 1905. This Set was not published with Volume Numbers for each Book. Each Book contains 400-650 pages of text and three to five illustrations.There are 20 Volumes in the complete set. William Faden was a prominent Scottish mapmaker (he dropped the "Mac" from his name when he moved to London), Royal Geographer to King George III and publisher during the late 19th and early 19th Centuries. He produced one of the finest set of maps during the American Revolution, as well as producing detailed charts from around the world.
