R. Nicolaus, 3 printed bookplates plus 3 small leather monograms with gilt letters to top corners of first pastedowns, 3 printed bookplates of Sir Francis Crossley and 3 small leather bookplates of W. A. Foyle, Beeleigh Abbey with gilt lettering. A few faint marks to covers, small closed tear to folding map neatly repaired on blank side, no loss, small dark brown spot to inner margin of page 35, not affecting text, occasional minor pale spot or browning, otherwise in very good condition. John Campell travelled upwards of 2000 miles in Africa, few English men at that time had performed such a feat.
