Stapled wrappers, front cover with original ink scarab drawing by the author mounted. One of 33 copies. A scarce publication by one of levy's unnamed presses, being Edouard Naville's translation of 'The Litany of Ra.' The large original drawing of a scarab on the cover is reflective of levy's interest in the symbol, which he used as the title of his collection 'Scarab Poems.' Though neither his name, nor that of one of his presses, appears in the text, this has all the hallmarks of levy's important mimeographed books, and appears less frequently on the market than others. He wrote sonnets and poems, many of which were the model of poetry during the Dark Ages. This exceedingly rare 1547 edition of the works of Petrarch includes his 'Triumphs' with commentary and notes by Alessandro Vellutello, a 16th-century Venetian author who was perhaps best-known for his commentary on Petrarch which first appeared in 1525.

Light rubbing and bumps to outside spine edges. Back cover and interior cloth covered board has a stain at top. Original owner's name and address from 1908, but no other writing or marks. First 2 pages have a stain at top, but text of 192 pages of poetry and recitations is totally clean with light tanning of pages.
