Illustrated dust jacket. Octavo. Black cloth. A memoir of a most complex life to age 46. The late Barnaby Conrad was an artist, bullfighter, restaurateur and author of 27 fiction and non-fiction books. "Matador" was his best-selling novel. He was once secretary to Sinclair Lewis. El Matador, Conrad's elegant saloon on Broadway in San Franisco's North Beach, was a very popular meeting place in the 1950's for locals and visiting celebrities.
