Boards and edges of boards with blind-tooled ornamentation. Traces of small paper-label to upper compartment. Small worm-tract to lower outer corner of last 100 ff. not affecting text. First illustrated edition of this highly popular work on the French Kings from Pharamond, King of the Franks, to Louis XIV.Not much is known about the author other than he was a French historian and magistrate who lived in the second half of the 17th Century.
