Edizione originale della massima opera dello scienziato piemontese, maestro di Volta e di Lagrange, la più organica e completa scritta sino a quell' epoca sull' elettricità.Partendo dal concetto di Franklin di un fluido unico positivo e negativo, il Beccaria procede con ricca documentazione, ad esporre in modo razionale ed organico le ipotesi e le teorie di Franklin, elaborazione questa, di cui l' americano nonostante la luminosità dei suoi intuiti, non era stato capace.
