G. Pickering. Printed by C. Corrall, 1822. First Edition. Hardcover. Vol. I: [3], frontispiece, half-title, [5], 1-199 pp.; Vol. II: pp. 200-403, [3], blank. An early example of Pickering's diamond classics printed by C. Corrall in diamond (4 1/2 point) type, from which the series gets its name. Text in Italian. First edition (first printing). Mixed set, both first editions, both in cloth covers with volume II, slightly smaller than volume I in height. Numbers stamped in blue 65305 and 65306 on early page of each volume and 'RO99/T!, v. 1, v.2', on rear pastedown page. No other evidence of library. Spine labels with scufffing and chipping. Mild edge and corner wear.
