"Author was one of the first Canadian pilots to enlist in the newly formed Canadian Naval Air Branch and, as a member of 825 Firefly squadron, joined Canada's first aircraft carrier HMCS Warrior in 1946. He subsequently flew actively in several operational squadrons. Qualified on several carrier type aircraft, he gained extensive flying duty and experience aboard the carriers HMCS Magnificent and HMCS Bonaventure." - dust jacket.
