Le Prince Roland Bonaparte (1858-1924) était le petit-fils de Lucien Bonaparte, frère de Napoléon Bonaparte. Il se livra à des études scientifiques et entreprit de nombreux voyages. He published many works on prehistory, especially in America. One printed folio gives the name, age and place of birth of the photographed subjects and an other signed by the librarian: "Prince Roland Bonaparte begs Monsieur le Marquis de Nadaillac to accept a copy of the photographs of the Hindus that he recently had executed for his private collection at the Jardin d'Acclimatation de Paris... March 3, 1884". Prince Roland Bonaparte (1858-1924) was the grandson of Lucien Bonaparte, brother of Napoleon Bonaparte. He devoted himself to scientific studies and undertook numerous trips. He built up a magnificent scientific, historical and geographical library, publishing many works himself. The photos are slightly faded. Very nice copy.
