About This Item
The Detective Book Club produced volumes of three crime novels from 1942 to 1999. Originally monthly, near the end they dwindled down to just a few per year. Many famous detective and crime novelists had their early works featured in DBC editions. Often, books were published in DBC editions before, or at the same time as they were published in mass market form. A little about our authors:
Judith Van Gieson: Van Gieson has written 14 novels. Her sleuths were Neil Hamel, lawyer, in eight novels, and Claire Reynier, rare book expert, in five novels. She also has one stand alone mystery novel. This is the seventh Neil Hamel novel.
Jo Bannister: Bannister is still going strong at the age of 67, with a new book out in 2019. Along with ten stand alone novels, she has written 30 detective novels in six different series. This book is number four out of seven in her Castlemere series.
Camilla Crespi: A pen name used by Camilla Trinchieri. Under both names, she has published the seven volume Simona Griffo series as well as four other novels. This is the sixth Griffo Mystery.
