New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1939. First Edition, Sixth Printing. Cloth. Very good/very good. Joseph in Egypt by Thomas Mann in the publisher's slipcase.. Octavo, [two volumes], vi, 369, [1]; 370-664pp, [4pp ads]. Navy blue cloth, title in gilt on spines. Title and border stamped in blind on front covers. Top edge dyed yellow. Stated "Sixth Printing" on copyright page. Solid text blocks, faint sunning to spines, a near fine set. Previous ownership bookplate affixed to front pastedown of both volumes. In the publisher's original glassine jackets, heavily worn, with toning, chipping, and losses along spine. Housed in publisher's slipcase with some toning and wear to edges. A nice example of the third book in Mann's Joseph and His Brothers series.
