New York: Appleton-Century-Crofts Inc, 1956. First Edition 8vo size hardcover with dust jacket; 306 deckle edged pages From dust jacket: "Malo the outlaw was dead, but the people of Quantana were silent and depressed, secret with many thoughts. Other villages in Mexico were decked gaily in preparation for Holy Week and Judas Day. Only Quantana lacked the spirit of Fiesta. There would be no joyous firecrackers exploding on Judas Day, no Judas figures hanging. Malo was gone, but the evil he created still lived..." Appears to be ex-library, but there are no library markings. Jacket is covered with a trimmed mylar cover. The trim has worn and shrunk over the years and the jacket underneath the mylar is wrinkled. There are tape transfer marks on endpapers. Smudge on fep, abrasion on fep, pages are toned. . First. Cloth. Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Ex-Library.
