Ex library with bookplate and stamps. Rear hinge tender, front hinge broken, cover scuffed and little worn at edges, o/w VG. A history of tenement life in New York City, and of the social centers, working girls' clubs and settlement houses that grew up to deal with the terrible conditions there.
