Washington: Government Printing Office, 1884. Hardcover. Very Good. pp 94 [frontispiece] An account of the unveiling of the statue to the American Founding Father and fourth Chief Justice of the United States, John Marshall. Publisher's dark green cloth with title in gilt to upper cover, rubbing to boards. Engraved frontispiece with tissue guard of the statue by William Wetmore Story which depicts Marshall wearing his judicial robes - initially placed on the west plaza of the Capitol before being moved to the ground floor inside the U.S. Supreme Court building. Internally the book is near fine; it contains the text of Chief Justice Waite's address and an oration by William Henry Rawle. Very Good 1884
