Philadelphia: J.B Lippincott, 1904. Book. Very Good. Cloth. First Edition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Edition, first U.S. edition. Published September , 1904, so stated. SCARCE in U.S. Only one other such copy on Abe as of March, 2021. Red cloth with gilt tiles/kangaroos to the front and spine. 392 pp. with 7 pp. of ads at the rear. This copy is VG. Exterior spine is moderately sun faded., covers minimally rubbed. Front gilt still bright. Modest wear to spine ends , tips, and bottom edges. Inside is unmarked save for PO signature of Joseph Hyde Pratt (1870-1942). Per NCpedia, Pratt was a noted geologist, conservationist, educator and prolific author who also served in WWI as Colonel of the 1st Battallion of the 105th Engineers and was awarded the DSM. Inside with minimal even toning, scattered foxing, and tightly bound. A wonderful Aussie adventure !.
